on this website are delivered via UPS or Fed Ex. However, large orders
and fully assembled products are usually delivered via a freight
carrier. This type of delivery requires an appointment to assist with
the unloading of goods, along with inspecting and signing for the
delivery. When the shipment arrives near your location, you will be
contacted by the carrier to arrange a delivery appointment. While the
carrier may allow some flexibility in appointment times, lengthy delays
in appointments may result in storage fees. Neither Total Backyard, nor
its suppliers, are responsible for such fees.
Some UPS/Fed Ex deliveries may require a signature for delivery. If a signature is not able to be obtained at the time of delivery, instructions will be left on how retrieve the delivery. We must have a phone number to provide to any of the carriers in the event that they need to contact the recipient. If you are not the recipient of the order, and a phone number is not provided with the delivery address, your billing phone number will be provided to the carrier. In the event of a freight carrier delivery, the carrier will deliver as close to your property line (curbside) as is accessible to the vehicle. The driver is under no obligation to assist with the unloading of the shipment; therefore, it is recommended that your have one or more assistants to help unload the delivery. While the total weight of such products may be very heavy, the product is divided into boxes that are more manageable by 1-2 people. You will be given a reasonable amount of time to complete the offloading of the shipment, typically 15-30 minutes. It is very important that you thoroughly inspect the delivery and document any damage that you see on the bill of lading/delivery receipt that you sign. Failure to document such findings may result in delays in resolving such claims. Freight services are prepaid, and no additional charges should be presented to you at the time of delivery. However, any additional services you may request of the carrier may involve additional charges, and are not the responsibility of Total Backyard or its suppliers Neither Total Backyard, nor its suppliers, are responsible for deliveries that are misdirected due to an invalid shipping address, including any fees incurred from misdirected deliveries. While Total Backyard works closely with its vendors to assure timely shipment of your order, various factors can impact the carrier's ability to deliver within the expected time frame.
